Trillium Mutual Insurance Company strongly believes that losses are inevitable and that most losses could be prevented. This has been our theory since 1951 which makes us one of the first in the mutual insurance industry to have a loss prevention program. This program has been one of the major reasons why Trillium Mutual Insurance Company has been so successful over the years and has a bright future in the insurance business.
Trillium Mutual Insurance Company is devoted to the policyholders by having three well-trained dedicated technicians in the field with over seventy-two years of experience and a Loss Prevention Coordinator. With the everyday changes in codes, products and problems, educational courses are the only way to keep current and be successful.
Loss prevention for a property should be considered a preventative maintenance program which is as important as oil changes for your automobile or tractor. The loss prevention program consists of a visit to a property to assess if there are any problems. The technicians will look at fuel storage, heating systems, electrical systems, smoke detectors, structural problems and liability risks. Fire extinguishers are checked and recommended where needed. Fire Extinguishers are serviced free of charge to our policyholders and new units are sold at a discount. Technicians will complete a layout of the property and take pictures of the buildings. The layout and pictures are for underwriting a risk and to help in case of a claim. This is a very worthwhile service for every policyholder and should be taken advantage of. If policyholders have a concern or would like to have their risk assessed, they can call our office or their Broker/Agent to have an appointment arranged with a technician.
Recently Trillium has added a new Thermal Imaging Program. If your farm or commercial policy qualifies for a thermographic survey it will be added to the existing inspection. In this case an infrared camera is used to look at the electrical and mechanical equipment to detect hazards that may have previously gone undetected by visual inspection.
