“Moving Agriculture beyond Food and Feed”
Trillium Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to feature Dr. Gord Surgeoner, President of Ontario Agri-Food Technologies as the Guest Speaker at its upcoming Annual General Meeting on March 11, 2010. The meeting will take place at the Formosa Community Centre, Formosa, Ontario at 1:30 p.m.
Dr. Surgeoner is a dedicated leader who has promoted initiatives that are important to the well being of the agri-food industry, for over 30 years. He is a past professor at the University of Guelph where he taught and mentored Environmental Biology and Plant Agriculture. He has been the President of Ontario Agri-Food Technologies since 1999. His organization includes members from farm associations, universities, industry and governments. It focuses on ensuring that Ontario producers have access to the latest technologies to complete globally and to develop new market opportunities, many of which are beyond food. He will be addressing the topic "Moving Agriculture beyond Food and Feed".
The business portion of the meeting commences at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Surgeoner’s presentation will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. The board of directors of Trillium Mutual cordially invites policyholder members to attend, as well as the general public who have an interest in learning more about Dr. Surgeoner’s perspective on the future of agriculture.

All members have an equal opportunity to participate in the corporation and the most effective way is to attend the Annual General Meeting which is held in March of each year.
The members elect peers to the Board of Directors. There are nine directors and each year the respective terms of three years expire and are filled by election at the Annual General Meeting.
The company is developing a new office facility in Listowel and will be relocating all operations in late 2010. This community was carefully selected by the Board of Directors and will allow the organization to continue to provide insurance and risk management solutions through dedicated and skilled employees.
