Management

The Management structure of Trillium Mutual Insurance flows from the General Manager to the Managers of each Department. The Department Managers meet with the General Manager on a weekly basis reporting their Department activity. The Department Managers also provide a report to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

Joe Dietrich, C.I.P. - President/C.E.O.

Joe has worked for the company since 1982. As C.E.O., he reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for ensuring that all Board policies are implemented. He obtained the Agricultural Business Management diploma from Centralia College in 1979. He obtained the Chartered Insurance Professional designation with the Insurance Institute of Canada in 1979. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program in 2007. He is the immediate past-chair of the Canadian Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (CAMIC), and still serves on the board of directors. He is also a board member for the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce.

Barb Buchanan - Manager of Business Processes & Quality Control

Barb entered into the business of Insurance in the spring of 1983. In those first years, she worked in the Residential, Commercial, Farm & Loss Prevention Departments. In 1992, Barb was introduced to the Claims Department as assistant to the claims adjusters. Drawing on her farming background, Barb moved back into Farm Underwriting in 1999 until such time as being appointed the position of Underwriting Manager in 2000 and carried on that until early 2010. Barb is also responsible for Internet Technology and was appointed Manager of Business Processes and Quality Control in early 2010. Barb is currently working on her Chartered Insurance Professional designation. Barb currently holds the position of secretary for the Donegal United Church. Along with her husband and children, they operate a dairy farm outside of Atwood.

Kevin Inglis, C.I.P. - Manager of Claims

Kevin joined the insurance industry following secondary education in 1986. Since that time, Kevin has worked in various facets of the organization, including many years in the underwriting department. Presently, Kevin is the Manager of Claims and oversees all aspects of the claims department, including the development of policies and procedures. Kevin obtained his designation as a Chartered Insurance Professional from the Insurance Institute of Canada in 1991.

Ron Wilson, C.M.A. - Manager of Finance

After graduating from Conestoga College with a Business Administration/Accounting diploma in 1980, Ron continued his education to obtain his Certified Management Accountants Designation in November, 1990. Before joining Trillium Mutual Insurance in March, 2004, Ron was employed as the Manager of Financial Accounting and Reporting at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener for 13 years. Ron is currently the Manager of Finance for Trillium Mutual Insurance. Ron prepares company financial statements, and ensures that Trillium Mutual Insurance complies with government financial requirements. Ron and his wife Debbie live in Atwood along with their two daughters.

Tammy Hickling,B.A., CIP - Manager of Customer Relations

Tammy started her career in the Insurance Industry in 1995. She has been with Trillium since 1999 and worked in various roles within the underwriting department. Tammy was appointed to the Manager of Customer Relations in January 2008. Tammy is responsible for all Broker and Agent relationships and acts as the liaison with the Company. She is also responsible for Marketing, Research & Development and Human Resources. Tammy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1994 and achieved her Chartered Insurance Professional designation in 2001. Tammy and her husband have 3 daughters and operate a Dairy farm near Hanover.
